Hydrant Testing (click to learn more)

Thursday, June 16th, 2022

The City of Waurika will begin pressure testing all fire hydrants within the City limits. This process is time consuming and is expected to take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete.

These tests are required as part of our ISO inspection which controls the rates paid by homeowners for insurance. Currently the City of Waurika holds an ISO rating of five (5).

Please note, while performing pressure tests on the fire hydrants, residents may notice a temporary drop in water pressure—this will vary depending on location and what hydrant is being tested. Residents may also notice temporary discoloration in the water throughout the testing period.

If you experience issues with pressure or discoloration, please be mindful of the cause and allow time for the issue to subside. If the issue does not correct itself upon the completion of this project, please contact City Hall.

Again, we are completing this testing to maintain or improve our current ISO rating—we appreciate your understanding and willingness to work with us throughout the completion of this large task.

Information will be released regarding the status of the City ISO rating once final inspections have been completed by the appropriate state agency.
